The head of the Kuchler Group is entrepreneur and inventor Fritz Kuchler.His father founded a company in 1926, which he then took over in 1963. At 23 he became Bizerba’s youngest general agent. From an early age Fritz Kuchler had therefore gained an insight into the problems faced by slicer users - from butchers to sales personnel. They gave him many different ideas for concrete improvements, culminating in his vision of a machine for slicing deli meats without the operator touching them.
Fritz Kuchler saw that electronics had the potential to realize that vision. In 1971 he launched the world’s first electronically controlled slicer on the market. It was to be the basis for the development of a modern company with a large R&D department, its own manufacturing facilities and sales under the S.A.M. brand.
